A New Spin on Fall: Cozy Colors, Scents, and Spaces
Fall.... It always takes me back to watching the leaves blow down the street as I listen to Troop’s Sweet November. The boys out playing, the girls on the curb talking and watching. There was always a crunch under my feet when walking over the leaves. Living in Texas, the color change from green to crunch is short, but I can close my eyes and go back to that exact moment more than 30 years later.
The evenings are darker faster, the decorations come out, displaying the pride of the season. Let’s welcome this fall with a new spin — won’t you join me?
“There was always a crunch under my feet when walking over the leaves.”
Open Concept Refresh
Fall is the season of layering, not just in our closets but in our homes. If bold feels right, lean into rich merlot for warmth. For balance, camel tones keep the palette grounded, and a cream throw adds texture that softens the space.
The beauty here is flexibility: these shades can stand alone, pair together, or accent a neutral base. That’s how you liven the space you live in — by building comfort that feels intentional, not overwhelming.
Post-It Note: Try switching out a frame or adding cushions to barstools. Small accents carry the theme throughout your open-concept spaces without a full redesign. Hobby Lobby usually has 50% off frames — an easy seasonal refresh!
Scents of the Season
Fall design isn’t just about what you see — it’s about what you feel when you step into a space. Scents set the mood just as much as textures and color.
You take a moment, you are alone, settling in for the evening. What does this smell like?
• Spiced Apple
• Pumpkin Latte
• Smoked Vanilla
• Pinecones (my personal favorite!)
These can come alive through candles, wall plug-ins, or wax melts. However you bring them in, they create warmth and atmosphere instantly.

The Arrangement Poll
Which Arrangement Speaks to You?
Fresh florals can anchor your space just as much as a throw or pillow. This season, I’m playing with bold blooms and unexpected pairings. Which arrangement would you choose for your dining table, entry console, or even to gift someone you love?
Option 1: Light & Fresh
Option 2: Bold & Moody
Cast your vote in the comments below — your favorite might just inspire my next creation (I’ll also be making one for my grandmother).
Your Fall Vibe
We’ve talked cozy colors, seasonal scents, and floral centerpieces — now I want to hear from you.
When you think of fall in your own home:
What’s your go-to scent?
What music sets the mood for you?
What color are you drawn to — or maybe daring enough to try this season?
Drop your answers in the comments — I’d love to know how you liven the space you live in.

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
